We have owned Roma 4 x 4 and Bikes, a rural motorcycle and quad bike sales, parts and repair business, for three years now. By June 2009, a number of business decisions had gone against us and we started to really feel the effect of prolonged drought and the bite of the Global Financial Crisis. Our business advisers basically suggested we 'shut the door's'! This was a devastating realisation and made us doubt ourselves and everything we had worked so hard to achieve over the previous years.

A close friend (also a client of Elodus Financial's) suggested we see a Financial Planner and gave us David Pidcock's phone number.  We didn't really see the point as cashflow was very tight and we couldn't see a way out. However, we went and met with David and we are so glad we did! Yes, he agreed, things were not great BUT he could see that we were determined to make this work and he wanted to be part of turning our business (and lives) around.

David has put some clarity around what is important. He has motivated us and his positivity rubs off! We have now prioritised what needs to be done (and the changes we HAD to make) and he has given us a clear path to travel down. He is available at virtually any time - we have had many discussions after hours and on weekends.   While David is always there, he also makes us very accountable. This has made us much more organised and in control of all aspects of our lives. We now work on the business as well as in it and are confident of what the future holds. The family is much better off on all accounts and this simply would not have been possible without the past guidance and continued help of David and his team.

The only downfall of having David as your Financial Planner is that he is in your head when you go shopping!

While Financial Planning is certainly about the future, it's also about now!!! It's about our lives, our family, educating the kids, having that holiday. This makes it so much easier to plan for 20 years down the track.
